ABOUT RONAN KLEU - The Full Story
My passion for sports was already sparked at a young age. I could always be found doing something active, whether it be skiing, swimming or any type of ball sport. In 2008 we moved from Switzerland to a golf estate in South Africa, which is where I took up golf officially, often playing or practising with my father or grandfather before and after school.
I got down to a handicap of 16 at the age of 10 before we moved back to Switzerland. Focusing on the "Gymiprüfung", I took some time off before taking my passion to the alpine course of Lenzerheide. Thereafter, I became a member of the regional squad in 2014 and a temporary member of the prestigious Golf and Country Club Zürich-Zumikon, which allowed me to practise closer to home.
As my game progressed, so did my scores and I started playing national and international events representing Switzerland. Upon conclusion of Gymnasium (high school), I took a leap by starting out at Columbus State University in the United States, as it presented an option to continue pursuing my dream of becoming a successful professional golfer while attaining a University degree.
It was during my college years, while enjoying the lifestyle of a student-athlete and the continuous gradual improvement of my golf game, that I realized I wanted to play golf for a living. The most valuable lesson I learned along the way was that of time management and the value of planning each day constructively in order to get that 1% better every day...
